Back before the snow melted, I finally had a chance to get some bird feeder pictures. With the snow on the ground the feeders were much more popular. The feeders swing around every time a bird moves, though, so it was a challenge. There were more than two or three of these birds, but (like the deer) they wouldn't all stay in the frame together.

  1. Are they cardinals? We don't have cardinals this far north.
And I can totally relate to trying to photograph them at the feeder! I've been trying for several days now to get pictures of the Grosbeaks at my feeders. Sigh.

  2. So beautiful!!! We never get any birds up here on the 12th floor!!! :-(

I love to sit on my mother's porch in KY and look at her hummingbirds etc.

  3. Gorgeous! It's so nice to watch birds. That's one of the few things I miss about living in a house as opposed to an apartment... it was nice to see the birds at our bird feeders.

  4. Yes, Bag Lady, they're cardinals. It was unusual that the males all stayed on the ground and left the feeders to the females; mostly they mix it up more.

I tried to have bird feeders at a few apartments I lived in, but most of them had nowhere that both the birds and I could reach, although I never lived higher than the third floor.

  5. How beautiful! We aren't allowed feeders at our complex and of course, we don't have Cardinals either.

  6. Gptta love Cardinals. I think the females are even more beautiful than the more vibrant males. Lovely shots. They're always a treat, eh? :)
