wild rose

Not the only bush near the house, but the only one I can see from indoors, which is where I'm staying a few more days. The locust pollen is almost over, but the wild roses will be over soon, too.

  1. Are the wild roses in your area white or pale pink (I can't tell from the picture). The wild rose is the provincial flower of Alberta, but ours range from pale pink to dark pink. And smell fabulous.

  2. They're white. They don't have much scent, just a faint sweetness, and they don't produce noticeable hips. (They must produce SOMEthing, mustn't they?)

I just looked up the Kentucky state flower, and it's goldenrod--to which, of course, I am allergic.
