first frost

More or less the first. There was a touch last week, but this time it was everywhere. Except in my yard.


My neighbor's yard had a little, but it almost stopped at their property line as it did at mine.


Glad I won't need to scrape the car windows often this winter.

    Scraping frost is better than sweeping off a foot of snow. Better yet, just turn on the defroster and have another cup of coffee while it takes care of the frost!

    My estimate of the frost-free zone was wrong the next morning when I needed to drive to work instead of walk. I parked next to the house, and there was frost on three sides of the car. The neighbor's roses, however, were untouched.
