all blooming at once

The zinnias are still blooming, although I fear a lot of the buds are never going to open. The marigolds are having their last flourish before frost, and the pansies I just bought will keep going long after frost. I thought I was buying three plants of blue pansies, but one of them turned out to be yellow.

  1. Yellow works so nicely with blue.. as does orange. No doubt you had lovely colour in your garden. They look so pretty in the photo.

    1. Thank you, Hilary. They continue to look pretty as I substitute new ones for faded ones.

  2. They're beautiful! We've had a few hard frosts up here so all the pretty blooms are gone. The leaves are still spectacular though...

When I lived in Raleigh, NC I saw pansy blooms freeze solid--ice storm, two days below freezing--and then thaw out without showing damage. In their case, "frost hardy" doesn't just mean the plants.
