making presents

We exchange presents at work by drawing names. The person I drew listed their favorite color as pink. We're not supposed to spend very much, so I was going to make her a potholder. I went in search of pink scraps. As I searched through the fabric in the basement I kept finding things I'd forgotten I had and going "Oh, my, I must make something with this!"

This is what came upstairs with me:

Here's side one:

And side two:

The finished product:

Now I have to find time to make myself one, as well as several dozen other things. I do love fabric.

  1. Very creative. Nothing beats a handmade gift from the heart.

  2. I think she liked it. But now I want more time to sew. Oh, dear, my time machine is out of commission.

  3. What a great idea! Who can have enough potholders? They always come in handy and being as you made it, it would make it much more special.

  4. Darn you for showing us piles of fabric! Now I have the urge to sew. (But no time right now.... sigh)
Your potholder is lovely! I could use new potholders. Mine are getting very ratty-looking.
